Defining Arctic Leadership

What to expect?

Research shows, that geographical areas have their own leadership DNA, which is rooted in place and culture. A DNA with great potential! In our approach, we put focus on the Arctic.

What’s your best leadership story?

We invite you, as a leader in the Arctic, to a walk in Nuuk, where we share stories and reflections on what characterizes Arctic leadership and how it can strengthen well-being, community and sustainable development in the Arctic.

Developed and used in the Arctic

Your stories and contributions will be part of a practice-oriented research project to identify Arctic leadership. The philosophy is that Arctic leadership should be created by leaders in the Arctic and applied in the Arctic.

For whom?

Leaders, private persons and all interested in the topic.

When?

Friday, 10 November 2023, 12pm – 1:30pm

Nature's leadership

What to expect?

This online course of the Network for Arctic Philosophy will give you a profound introduction into the principles of Nature’s leadership. The aim is to help you:

  • Combine nature and leadership
  • work with nature and  sustainability in your organization or community.
  • Work with mental health using nature and storytelling

In our approach, we work with the method True Storytelling, which is inspired by indigenous peoples’ storytelling traditions, where personal stories are shared and gathered to create new knowledge.

The online course comprises 7 modules, each based on one chapter of the book “Nature’s Leadership”. They will be held over 7 weeks for a global audience. In addition to the online-lessons, the programme includes weekly exersices.

Participants will get a copy of the manual “Nature’s Leadership” (translation in English will follow).
